Reading 12 – Second Maiden’s Tragedy

On May 19th, the Complete Readings of William Shakespeare continue with The Second Maiden’s Tragedy. There’s been a lot of hullaballoo of late regarding the decision by the Arden Shakespeare to publish the “lost” play of Double Falsehood. This is a rare opportunity to see the other play commonly identified as the lost play of Cardenio. But is this really a lost masterpiece? Or just a scholastic grab for glory? Come decide for yourself, as the American Shakespeare Repertory presents the second in its series of apocryphal plays!
