Love’s Labour’s Lost
by William Shakespeare
Directed by Kenneth Noel Mitchell
February 26 – March 7

Don’t miss your chance to see the senior company of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program showcase their training in a swinging and satirical rendition of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost. When four friends make a pact to abandon all earthly pleasures – most importantly women – in pursuit of scholarship, they quickly realize that love doesn’t play by the rules. As each man falls head-over-heels, this madcap comedy will send you on a hilarious adventure of mishaps and misunderstandings. With cunning wordplay and sharp wit, Love’s Labour’s Lost will leave you and your students laughing and loving this show!

Love’s Labour’s Lost is an adaptation by director Kenneth Noel Mitchell. Set in the Roaring ‘20s, Mitchell’s version of one of Shakespeare’s most unique comedies embodies the drama, energy and playfulness of young love. Pulling inspiration from other Shakespearean comedies, Love’s Labour’s Lost is a no holds barred battle of the sexes – just as Shakespeare intended.
