Richard II: Thomas of Woodstock – Script Addendum

As described in The End of the Story, Richard II: Thomas of Woodstock is a play in need of an ending. For our reading as part of the Complete Readings of William Shakespeare, a new ending of the play was written by Justin Alexander.

The ASR scripts of the play have been updated to include the ending as it was performed (and have also received a final proofreading). If you’re interested in reading the new ending by itself, a separate PDF link has been included below.

  1. Justin Alexander’s ending is very good and compares well with mine. Both follow a similar trajectory (Tresilian is executed, Richard restored to the throne), as suggested by the play and history. I do something with Lapoole (Woodstock’s jailer and assassin) and Green, Bagot, etc., and perhaps Mr Alexander should include them too.
